Fountain Gillespie Mitchell was born the 2nd child of 12 on Oct 12, 1828 in Scottsville, Allen, Kentucky. He was in farming all his life.He married Sarah E Woodcock on Nov 8, 1855 in Allen County, Kentucky and together they had 2 sons, William Henry and Eugene Mitchell. Sarah passed away 5 days after the birth of their son Eugene. Fountain later married Sallie Sarah Paradine Holder and together they had 9 more children: Edwin, Emma Pearl, Harry Herman, Herschel Goodnight, George Mulligan, Jennie Mildred, Fowler Mordicai, and Mary Elizabeth Mitchell. He passed away in August 1910 in Scottsville, Allen, Kentucky.
