Sarah E Woodcock was born Oct 22, 1836 in Smith County, Tennessee, the eldest child of 10 of Green Brian Woodcock and Polly Frances Meador Woodcock. She grew up on the family farm. They moved from Tennessee to Scottsville, Allen County, Kentucky when she was a young girl. She married Fountain Gillespie Mitchell on Nov 8, 1855 in Allen County, Kentucky and together they had 2 children: William Henry and Eugene Mitchell. Sarah passed away at the age of 21 on Sep 4, 1858 in Scottsville, Allen County, Kentucky as a result of child birth of her 2nd son, Eugene, just 5 days after his birth.
