Funeral services for Mrs. William Jaquis were held at the First Presbyterian Church of Hinckley on Friday, June 29, with Dr. Paul Hendricks of Brainerd and Rev. Robert Malcolm, officiating.
Casket bearers were Lloyd Sikkink, Eugene Sikkink, Herbert Sikkink, and Ralph Sikkink Jr., and she was laid to rest in the Memorial Cemetery here.
Bessie Catherine Turner was born in Akron, Ohio, on August 19, 1882. In June, 1900, she was united in marriage to William Jaquis, at Aitkin, Minn., and they lived near Canby until 1907 when they moved to Iowa. They came to Hinckley in 1918 and have resided here since.
Ten children were born to this union, of whom only three are now living. Muriel (Mrs. Elmer Corwin) died in 1923; Zelda died in infancy, Ronald died at the age of thirteen, in 1919; twins Marjorie and Marcella, died in infancy in 1919, and her oldest son, Max, born December 23, 1903, was stricken with a heart attack as he was on his way home from here last Thursday, at an Owatonna, Minn., hospital.
She is survived by her husband, William; Marion (Mrs. Ralph Sikkink) of Waubay. S.D.; Elizabeth (Mrs. Stuart Sikkink) of Hinckley, and Evelyn (Mrs. Dennis Ryan) of St. Paul. Also nineteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, and one sister, Doris, of Saskatchewan, Canada.
The News joins the community in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved family."
