LEWISTON, Utah - Mrs. Helen Viola Jackson Kent, died Wednesday in a Logan nursing home of natural causes.
Mrs. Kent was born April 4, 1879, in Richmond, a daughter of William Henry and H-l--- Merrill Jackson.
She was married to Melvin Ernest Kent on Nov. 15, 1899, in the Logan LDS Temple. He died in March 1961. She was a member of the Lewiston Literary Club and Lucinda Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She served an LDS mission in Mississippi.
Surviving are the following sons and daughters; Dr. M. L. Kent, Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Edith K. Smith, Mrs. Arthur (Verna) Taylor, Mrs. Allen (Elna) Bergesen, Mrs. West (Grace) Lindsay, all of Ogden; Mrs. Verlan (Ethel) Leavitt, Coyt; Mrs. W. R. (Myrtha) Westover, Lewiston; 25 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; two brothers, William H. Jackson, Ogden, Darrell P. Jackson, Kamas.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at noon in the Lewiston 3rd LDS Ward Chapel.
Friends may call at the Nelson Mortuary in Logan Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the ward chapel Saturday after 10:30 a.m. Burial in the Lewiston City Cemetery.
