John Franklin Adams, 80, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, February 19, at his home about five miles southeast of Wentzville.
Mr. Adams operated a Texaco service station and tourist cabins on Highway 40-61 and was a realtor.
He will be in state at Pitman Funeral Home from noon Thursday until time of the funeral. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Theodore H. Wolff officiating. Burial will be in Linn Cemetery.
Mr. Adams was born in Lawson, Missouri and lived in this vicinity about 20 years. He was superintendent of schools in Wentzville in 1922 and 1923.
Survivors include his wife Avis; one daughter, Mrs. Woodrass Smith of Ashland, Virginia; one son Marcus, Chicago; two brothers, Albert of Richmond and Arthur of Rayville; one sister, Mrs. Mary Jane Bice, Richmond; and two grandchildren.
