Paul Albert Rowland, Turin, Iowa, died on Wednesday, February 20, 1985, in the V.A.
Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, following a long illness. Death came at the age of 66 years, six
months and 22 days. He was born near Turin on July 29,1918, the son of Orville and Faye Brown \Rowland. He married Vivian Stebbins August 1, 1947, in Dakota City, Nebraska. He was a lifetime area construction laborer and farmer and most recently had been employed the Turin Elevator. He was a
member of the First Christian Church at Onawa. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and a charter member of Struble-Rowland American Legion Post No. 702 at Turin. Paul was a devoted husband and loving father. He was loved and appreciated by his friends neighbors. Survivors include his wife Vivian ;three daughters, Mrs. Roger (Anita) Richardson and Mrs Robert (Donna) Taylor, both of Sioux City and Stacey Rowland of Turin; one son, Paul Jr. of Sioux City; two brothers, Sidney of Sioux City and Earl of Newcastle, Nebr.; 19 grandchildren; a step-brother, Cecil Rowland in Texa3 and a step­ sister, Alleen Rowland in Wyoming He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and
Gene. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 22, 1985, at the First Christian Church,
Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Jerry Quandt officiating. The organist was Mrs. Vince Phillips and the
soloist, Becky Cummins, sang, "In The Garden". Honorary casket bearers were Vernon Brown, Donald Brown, Syril Brown, Laurence McDonald, Jim Lynn and Vern Angove. Casket bearers were Roger
Richardson, Robert Taylor, Roger LeFebvre, Craig Rowland, Damon Ooten, and Harry Kniefl.
Interment was in the Belvidere Cemetery, Turin, Iowa, with Military Graveside services by Struble-Rowland American Legion Post No. 702, Turin, Iowa. Bill Roberg, Commander. Arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
