He was born December 25, 1915 in a sod house at Seneca, NE to Austin Sylvester and Amanda (Johnson) Miller. He spent most of his life farming but also worked at a variety of other jobs. He was known for his great sense of humor and enjoyed visiting with people. Austin easily befriended people and also possessed a special affinity with animals.
He was preceded in death by his wife Esther, his parents, and his sister Grace McHarque. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Mary of Omaha, Don and Cathy of Omaha, and Dale of Omaha; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2006 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wahoo with the Rev. Eric Bostrom officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be at Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo. Memorials may be given to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
