Mary Alice Birdwell was born at Bellefonte October 3, 1872, a daughter of Robert Bruce and Emeline Milam Chandler. She passed away at Harrison, January 23, 1970 at the age of 97. She had been a resident of Boone County most of her life. She was married to James Andrew Birdwell in 1889 at Bellefonte. He preceded her in death in 1950. Two sons, Luster and Clarence, and one daughter, Pearl Jones, also preceded her in death. She is survived by one son RB Birdwell of Harrison, three daughters, Eve Hayes of Batesville, Arkansas, Gladys Taft of Sprngfield, MO., Agness Jackson of Harrison, one brother Chester Chandler of Springfield, Mo., one sister, Nellie Main of Harrison, also 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends who mourn her passing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrison.
