Clara Hammett Finley, 77, of 15 Sparks Ave., widow of Calvin Emmett Finley, died Nov. 19, 2001, at Self Regional Healthcare.

She was born in Honea Path, a daughter of the late Willie Dexter [Hammett] and Cleo [patra] Rogers Hammett. She attended Honea Path High School and Piedmont Technical College. She retired from Mount Vernon Mills and later worked as a nursing assistant. She was a member of Ware Shoals United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Lewis [Welborn] and Beth [Pitt] Finley of Wallace, N.C., and David [Eugene] and Connie [Cooper] Finley of Powdersville; two sisters, [Mary] Molly Hammett Evans of Pelzer, Caroleen Hammett Murdock of Honea Path; a half sister, Lucille Stone Bollinger, of Greenwood; eight grandchildren, Michael, Rodney, Melissa, Le An, Jon, Kris't, Drew and Andrea Finley; and two great-grandchildren, Victoria and Jennifer Finley.

She was predeceased by two sons, Charles Emmett [Finley]and Earle Michael Finley.

Funeral service: 3 p.m. Wednesday at Ware Shoals United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gayle Summey officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church. — Parker-White Funeral Home.
