Boring- Rites for Jasper A. Ashworth, 74, resident of this district for the past year, who died at his home here Sunday morning was held in the chapel of Carroll's Funeral Home in Gresham, Wednesday afternoon. Rev. C.W. Ahalt of Portland officiated. Interment was made in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham.
Mr. Ashworth was born in Warren Co., IA, April 4, 1866. He married Miss Lillie Maude Harmon, March 3, 1886, in Jewell Co., KS, and they were parents of nine children.
Mr. and Mrs. Ashworth came to Troutdale from Kansas in 1925, later moving to Boring. He was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving relatives are his widow, Mrs. Lillie Maude Ashworth of Boring, two daughters, Mrs Lora (Roy) Foust of Gresham and Mrs. Maggie (Roy) Steenson of Boring; three sons, Lester C. of Fairview, Rev. Robert F. of Yakima, Wash, and James Lee, of Kansas City, MO; 32 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Wihlon of Troutdale.
