I must admit to not being sure he really is buried here, but it would make sense to me, as he was a member of the congregation. (See the main cemetery page. His is the second name down on the left in the list of Revolutionary War soldiers who were members of the congregation.) Though I have no proof, I like to believe my sixth great grandparents (grandmother Elizabeth "Betsy" Craig Blackwood) are buried in the old part of the cemetery.

As William would have been about 70 when the Amer. Rev. War started in 1775, and this entry indicates he died in 1772 (three years earlier) is it possible the William listed as one of the soldiers who were early members of the New Hope Presb. Church is a son, or maybe a nephew of this William? Just doesn't seem to align with this individual.
