Charlie was born on May 13, 1917, in Mills County to Lee and Addie Mae Trantham. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Charlie married the love of his life, Thelma Jones, on Sept. 6, 1939, in Mertzon, Texas. Thelma preceded him in death on March 9, 2003. He was a rancher for over 60 years. Charlie was a devoted family man who loved them above all else. He was a man of his word, when you tell someone you're going to do something you did it no matter what. Charlie was trustworthy, hard-working and would make or break you if you worked for him.
Charlie is survived by his son, Derell Trantham and wife Leona of Water Valley; granddaughter Cyndee Stevens and husband John of San Angelo; brothers Carl Trantham and wife Willie of San Angelo, Maurice Trantham and wife Billie of San Angelo; great-granddaughter Brenna Matthews of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Senior Care Center and the Interim Hospice. The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers go to Interim Hospice and West Texas Rehab Center.
