Mary Harms Stutt, the widow of John Stutt, died, at her home in Wayne township, of a stroke of paralysis, last Monday evening, at 9:30 o'clock. She suffered the stroke at 4 o'clock in the afternoon of the day of her death, and declined rapidly until the end. The funeral will be held tomorrow, and will be conducted by Rev. 0. Mardorf, the pastor of the church of which Mrs. Stutt had long been a member. Mrs. Stutt is survived by seven children., She was a good mother and reared her children Into lives of usefulness and integrity. They all have many reasons for revering her memory. Mrs. Stutt was nearly 66 years of age. She was born in Hanover, Germany, and lived there until her marriage to John Stutt, who went to Germany for his bride shortly after the close of the Civil war, wherein he had served as a soldier. The young couple came to this country and settled in Wayne township, which was the home of the decedent for more than 40 years. Mr.
Stutt died several years ago. The children surviving are Henry, the Jones county representative in the legislature; John, a resident of Canada, who arrived with his wife, this morning, for the funeral; Herman, Maggie Folkera, Edward, William and George, all of whom reside in this community, Mrs. Stutt occupied a large place in the esteem of her neighbors, who will long miss her presence.
