Born August 11, 1921 in Aldredge, Tenn. he was the son of the late Joe Christian and Frances Christian.
He was a Staff Sergeant in WWII and received a Purple Heart. He was a retired welder with Ingalls Ship Building.
Joe was united in marriage to Vera Irene Reeves. She preceded him im death.
Mr. Christian leaves two sons; Kenny Christian of Acworth and Randy Christian of Pascagoula, Miss.; two brothers; Jerry Christian of Arizona and Johnny Christian of Pennsylvania, and five sisters: Trecia Bennett of Louisianna, Aubyron Thomas and Virginia Landgon both of Oregon and Mable Catt and Geralding Hitchens borth of Missouri.
Graveside services with Full Military Honors for Mrs. Christian will be held at 10:00 am Thursday September 30, 2004 at the Mr. Zion Cemetery in Steele, with the Rev. Jim Mousie officiating. Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home of Steele in charge of services.
