ALTOONA MIRROR, Altoona, Blair, Pennsylvania of 23 Apr 1926 reads: "Mrs. Mary Megahen, widow of G. W. Megahen and mother of Frank V. Megahen of Eldorado, died Wednesday morning at 7 o'clock at the home of her dau., Mrs. Ephraim Shingler, residing near Cottage in the Shavers Creek valley, Huntingdon county. Death was due to ailments incident to advanced age as she was within a few days of having reached her 92nd birthday.In fact the funeral tomorrow will be held on her brithday. The deceased was the daughter of John and Mary Borst and was born Apr. 24, 1834, being aged 91 years, 11 months and 27 days. She was a member of a pioneer family and had spent the greater part of her life in the Shavers Creek valley. Her husband died three years ago in February. Two children survive, Frank W. of Eldorado and Mrs. Shingler, at whose home she died. Three grandchildren also survive, Raymond, Elizabeth, and Lynn Megahen. She was a member of the Presbyterian church for many years and was a good Christian woman and a kind neighbor, and was held in high esteem among a large circle of friends. Funeral services will be held at the Bethel Presbyterian church in Shavers Creek valley tomorrow forenoon at 10 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Presbyterian cemetery."
