ALTON - Audrey A. Whalen, 48, died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 1994, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton after a short illness. The daughter of Audrey (Walsh) Heintz of Godfrey and the late Victor Heintz was born Aug. 2, 1948, in Alton.

She was the manager of B. Dalton Book Store in Alton for 12 years. She married David "Rick" Whalen March 4,1967, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton. He survives.

Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Sharon Whalen of Alton; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Don Crowson of Peoria, Marilyn and Jim Davis and Terry and Jim Cranmer, all of Alton, and Franny and Paul Ventimiglia of Middletown, Ohio; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. William and Ellen Heintz and Charles and Beth Heintz, all of Alton, and Victor and Dr. Barbara Heintz of Rochester, N.Y.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Staten Funeral Home in Alton, where a prayer service will be recited at 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton. Father James Probst will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to the library fund at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School in Alton.
