Paul Myron Sammons, 62, of Russell died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He was born Aug. 29, 1946, in Ashland, son of the late Bert H. and Lois V. Fraley Sammons. He was the husband of the late Charlotte Pierce Sammons. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Ashland and was a graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School. He attended Trevecca Nazarene College and was a graduate of Bethany Nazarene College in Oklahoma. He was retired from AK Steel as a troubleshooter in the maintenance department.

Survivors include five aunts, Grace Brammer, Orma Sheets, Alene Fraley Halterman, all of Grayson; Charlotte Reager of Newport News, Va., and Lucille Weldy of Tipp City, Ohio; one uncle, Wayne L. Fraley of New Carlisle, Ohio; a special friend, Joan Parker; a cousin, Mary Katherine Fraley Sexton; and several cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel, with Dr. Steve Ruby officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
