Funeral services for Benedict Wessel, 14 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. August Wessel, Baileyville,were held Friday morning at nine o'clock from Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville. Rev. FatherBlaufuss was in charge. Schoolmates of Benedict attended the service in a body. Interment wasin the parish cemetery. The lad died Wednesday afternoon from spinal menengitis which developed from flu and pneumonia. The boy had spinal menengitis only six or eight hours before his death and doctors did not believe it had reached a stage of contagion makingit necessary to hold a private funeral.
