Last Rites Held Friday For Alvin E. Herbort:
Funeral services for Alvin Emil Herbort were held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. R. G. Hartfiel of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Cave Creek officiating.
Mrs. L. J. Durkop sang at the services at the funeral home. Interment was in the City Cemetery. Pall bearers were Victor Eckhardt, Harry Moldenhauer, James Heinen, Henry Mueller, Werner Koch and Willie Behrends.
Mr. Herbort passed away at a local hospital at 1:10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at the age of 44 years, 11 months and 12 days. He had been surffering from a lengthy illness which suddenly became worse.
Mr. Herbort was born Feb. 16, 1915, in Gillespie County, the son of Emil and Minna Cold Herbort. He and Miss Clara Lina Schmidt were united in marriage July 25,1934. He was engaged in stockfarming and was employed at Farmers Grain Inc.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Clara Herbort, Fredericksburg; three sons, Bobby Lee, Jerry C. Utha, and Anthony Herbort, Fredericksburg; two daughters, Lila, Mrs. Edwin Beyer, and Miss Julia Herbort, both of Fredericksburg; his mother, Mrs. Emil Herbort, Fredericksburg; his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Schmidt, Fredericksburg; five sisters, Ella, Mrs. Albert Oehler, San Antonio, Emma Mrs. Max Danz, Fredericksburg; Mrs. Selma Weiershausen and Nora, Mrs. Arwerd Moellering, both of New Braunfels and Mrs. Vera Young, Austin; a brother, Edwin Herbort, Fredericksburg, and one grandchild.
Alvin died at 45 of age. He was buried on February, 1960 at Der Stadt Friedhof Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Texas.
