Hi Autumn,
In the past few weeks I have photographed all tombstones at the Stroud Family Cemetery and West Marion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Your Emma Tucker Bowman, George & Sarah Poteat, John & Mary Ann Reel, James & Martha Sherlin and Elbert Silver are not buried in the Stroud Family Cemetery but are buried in West Marion UM Church Cemetery. I realize that some of the death certificates and obituaries, at various times, have used Stroudtown Cemetery, Stroud Chapel or Stroud Cemetery. All of these cemeteries are one and the same and are now part of West Marion UM Church Cemetery. This cemetery is located on Stroud Road in Marion.
The Stroud Family Cemetery is located on Rt 221/226N north of Marion, close to Hicks Chapel Loop. It is immediately adjacent to the Hicks Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery and is about eight miles from where the above mentioned people are actually buried.
Would you please relocate the above mentioned memorial to the proper cemetery?
Thanking you in advance,
(or Silvers)
