Everett Willis Painter, 83, of the Fenelton and Rural Valley areas, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006 in Sugar Creek Rest, Worthington (Sugarcreek Township).

He was born Jan. 2, 1923, in Templeton to Ralph and Elsie (Farester) Painter.

Mr. Painter was a laborer for the former Haws Brick and Clay Company, Bridgeburg and Drexel Clay and Brick Refactory, Kittanning.

An Army Air Corps veteran, he served during World War II.

Everett enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and spending time with his great-grand- daughter, Madison.

Survivors include two sons, William E. Painter Sr., of Kittanning, and Robert J. Painter, of Fenelton, and companion Al Wise; three grandsons, William E. Painter, Christopher S. Painter and Gregory R. Painter; one great-granddaughter, Madison Painter; one sister, June Zerbee, of St. Petersburg, Pa.; nephews; and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Caroline Jean (Hughes) Painter, who died Aug. 14, 2003; two brothers, Merle Painter and George F. Painter Sr.; and three sisters, Alberta Bartlett, Lois Delp and Pearl Paine.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home Inc., 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Ron Hugill, pastor of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Boggs Township, officiating. Burial will be in the Mateer Cemetery, Boggs Township.
