Mrs. John Kautzer Dies; Laid to Rest Saturday
Mrs. John Kautzer, aged 48, passed away early Thursday morning at the St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan, after undergoing an operation for a ruptured appendix last week.
The deceased, nee Marie Schnell, was born in the town of Eaton,Manitowoc county, September 18, 1894, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Anton Schnell. On December 31, 1918 she became the bride of John Kautzer at St. Nazianz, and since that time have resided in this city. She was a member of the Catholic Knights Auxiliary of the Ss.Peter and Paul Catholic church, and also of the women's auxiliary
of G. U. G. Germania.Mrs. Kautzer is survived by her husband; two daughters, six brothers,
Gilbert of Sheboygan, Anthony and Roland of Kiel R. 1, Louis and Leo of Steinthal, and Private Oscar Schnell in California; four sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Eleanor) Hartmann and Mrs. Otto (Helena) Trost of Sheboygan, Miss Elizabeth and Miss Meta Schnell of Steinthal. One brother, Herman, died last year, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Nehring passed away two months ago.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, and at 9:30 o'clock in the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church, with the Revs. Kheil, Esdepsky and Unger officiating.
Pallbearers were five brothers and a nephew, namely; Leo, Louis, Gilbert, Roland and Anton Schnell, and Alfred Trost.
