Dorothy "Dot" Ballard, as she is affectionately known, is happier than she's ever been, going to be with her Lord on April 1, 2009. She will always be remembered for her outstanding personality, her great sense of humor and for being one of the most vivacious cheerleaders of Grand Prairie High School Class of 1956. Dot was a successful realtor in Grand Prairie for many years. She also owned an antique business where she met many friends "garage selling". Her family would like to believe she is "garage selling" in Heaven, and we know she's walking, jumping and doing whatever business the Lord has for her to do.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Markham and Dorothy Turner Markham and a sister, Billie Kay Schneider.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Calvary Baptist Church, 401 W. Church Street, Grand Prairie, Texas, where she was a life long member, made her profession of faith and was baptized.

Burial: Bell Springs Cemetery, Bynum, Texas.
