Mrs. Schneider died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Billie Kay Schneider was born Dec. 4, 1932, in Grand Prairie, Texas, to William Cay and Lillian Turner Markham.
She moved to Artesia in 1951. She married Bernard W. Schneider on Feb. 21, 1953, in Artesia. They returned to Artesia from Arlington, Texas, in 1957. Mrs. Schneider was a housewife and grandmother. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard Schneider, of the family home; sons, Robert B. Schneider and John A. Schneider, both of Artesia; daughter, Jolynn Schneider, of Artesia; sisters, Dorella Bond, Jo Ann Schneider and Dorothy Ballard, all of the Dallas/Fort Worth area; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Brian Keith Schneider, Will Crockett, Richie Crockett, Freddie Chavarria, Wayne Wallace, John David Pinkerton and Tonny Pennington. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Schneider, Ivan Schnedier, Melvin Schneider, Francis Schneider, Cecil Mauldin, Deopp Crockett and all close friends and nephews.
