Barnabia (Barnaby) moved to the USA with his Brother abt 1870. He and James found 7k in gold and split up with another "missing" brother after losing most of their money building a flume which was destroyed by bad weather in 1871 near Orville, CA. Barnabia took his share and helped start La Honda, CA. Soon James and his family joined him. Its unknow who the 3rd brother was. However, rumor has it that it was Barnabia's wife's brother, Peter Berta. Barnaby decided to move from La Honda and live out his life in Hollister, CA. The family WALKED to Hollister from La Honda abt 1916. (Stopping only to awh at the San Carlos "Electric" Tower in San Jose, CA. It was the first time they had seen electricity.
