Survivors include three sons, Elmo Townsend of Winnfield, John Townsend of Keithville and Stanley Townsend of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Amy Wilks of Lobington, N.M., and Mrs. Ann L. Jones of Bossier City; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Bertha Gates of Dodson and Mrs. Maude Hall and Mrs. Johnnie Prestridge, both of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Hilton Gorham of Joyce and C. E. Gorham of Dry Prong; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Sanders of Dodson and Mrs. G. P. Eagles of Joyce; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were to be held at 2 p.m. today in the Southern Funeral Home chapel here with Rev. Willie James officiating. Burial will be in the Gorham Town Cemetery in Joyce.
