Luther Lee Keller, the son of William M. and Mary Ann Keller was born on a farm four miles southeast of Chariton in the Salem district on July 27, 1871, and passed away at the Baker nursing home July 27, 1958, at the age of 87 years.
He was united in marriage to Jessie Mabel Gookin of Ragtown and they lived on a farm adjoining his father's until his retirement in 1943. To this union were born six children: Elmer, Carl, Reba, Dorothy, Mary and Vera.
His wife and son, Elmer, preceded him in death, 1949 and 1952 respectively. There are also surviving, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a brother, John and a brother, Amos, both of California and a sister, Marie of Olathe, Colo.
He was a kind and loving husband and father. He had a host of friends and was most highly regarded by all who knew him. He was active in community affairs and served for many years on the Salem school board.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1 at the Beardsley Funeral Home with the Rev. A. E. Beals officiating. Interment was at the Salem cemetery.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m., at the Beardsley Funeral Home for Luther L. Keller, 87, who died Sunday at the Baker Nursing Home.
A retired farmer, Keller had moved to Chariton 12 years ago.
Survivors include a son, Carl of San Diego, four daughters, Reba Cutler of Chariton, Dorothy McDonnell of Kansas City, Mary Belle Jamison of North Haven, Maine, and Vera Stover of El Paso, two brothers and a sister.
