HOWELL, Minnie Lindsay.
Mrs. Joseph T. Howell, Sr., 90, resident of Nashville and native of Giles County, died Saturday, May 7, in St. Thomas Hospital. Funeral rites took place Monday in Christ Church Episcopal with the burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The former Miss Mannie Lindsay, she was born at Lynnville, the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Lindsay and Martha Ann Childress Lindsay. She was educated at Murfreesboro, and at Belmont in Nashville, which later became Ward-Belmont School for Young Ladies. For many years, she was active in civic and cultural affairs of Nashville where she lived most of her life. She was a member of the Episcopal Church. Her husband, Joseph T. Howell, Nashville banker, died in 1929.
Mrs. Howell is survived by one son, Joseph T. Howell, Jr., vice-president of Third National Bank in Nashville; a step-daughter, Mrs. Campbell Bonner, Ann Arbor, Mich.; and two grandsons, Joseph T. Howell, III, and Thomas C. Howell, both of Nashville.
