Mrs. Herman Hartmann, 78, passed away following a heart attack at her home near Kiel about 11 a.m. Sunday.

Born in New Holstein Nov. 15, 1867 she was married Nov. 24, 1891, at St. Anna. Mr. Hartmann preceded her in death in 1942. A son also preceded her in death.

Survivors are six children; Mrs. Frank Held and Mrs. Romie Hahn, Milwaukee; Mrs. Fred Klaeser, Mrs. Edward Schneider, Charles and Raymond, Kiel; also 30 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Dorn, St. Anna, and Mrs. Louis Bosma, South Dakota, and two brothers, Carl Laures, New Holstein and Edward Laures, New York.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Peter and Paul’s church, Kiel. Father F. X Khiel officiated and interment was made in the parish cemetery.

Herman Hartmann was born Dec. 25, 1865 in Wisconsin. He speaks both German
and English. He owns a 100 acre farm 3.5 miles northeast of Kiel.
Maria Lauer (his wife) was born Nov. 5, 1868 in Wisconsin. She speaks both
German and English.
They were married Nov. 24, 1891 in St. Anna by Rev. Schiefen. In 1906 they
had the following 6 children:

Veronica born Dec. 27, 1894
Olivia born Nov. 24, 1898
Raymund born July 10, 1902
Lidia born Oct. 15, 1905
Hedwig Elis born Nov. 2, 1906
