Funeral services for Walter J. (Denny) Graf, 66, of 615 Fremont St., Kiel, owner and operator of Denny's Center Tavern for 44 years, who died Tuesday morning at the Heritage Nursing Home, Sheboygan, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. The Rev. Roger Zach, OFM Cap., will officiate. Burial will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Kiel. He was born Dec. 2, 1908 in Kiel, a son of the late Albert and Emma Klauck Graf. He attended Kiel public schools and graduated in 1927. On April 10, 1939 he married Marie Maltby at Stockbridge. After marriage the couple resided in Kiel.
His wife died March 12, 1969. On Nov. 20, 1971 he married Katherine Duecker at Mt. Calvary. He was a member of the Kiel and Manitowoc County Tavern Leagues, Manitowoc Tribe 49 of the Improve Order of Redmen, an its 24-Hour Club. He was a past great sachum of the Wisconsin Redmen Tribe.
Survivors are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Sue Ann) Reichwaldt of Manitowoc; three sons, Brother Michael OFM, Cap., of Appleton, James of Sheboygan and Charles of Kiel; a step-son Kurt Duecker of Sheboygan; two step-daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Mary) Lorenz of Tampa, Fla., and Mrs. Thomas (Diane) Morton of Neenah; three grandchildren and five step-grandchildren, and two brothers, Harvey and Robert, both of Kiel.
A brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today where members of the Redmen Lodge will hold a memorial service at 7 this evening.
