Peter Gellings Passes Away.
Peter Gellings, aged 57, a resident of the town of Schleswig, two miles north of this city, passed away Thursday at 10 p.m. at the St. Camillus hospital at Wauwatosa, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Gellings was born December 5, 1884, in St. Nazianz, the son of John and Catherine Mueller Gellings. He attended the parochial school at St. Nazianz, and in 1917 moved to the present farm home with his brother, John, and they have resided there since.
Survivors are two brothers, John on the homestead, and Aloys at St. Nazianz.
Funeral services were held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the C.J. Meiselwitz Funeral Home, and at 10 a.m. services were conducted at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church, with the Rev. Father F.X. Kheil officiating.
Pallbearers were John Gellings, Frank Mueller, John Endries, Ed Mueller, Clemens Endries and Peter Koenig. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
Relatives and friends from Fond du Lac, West Allis, Sheboygan, St. Nazianz, School Hill, Eaton, Marytown and Chilton attended the services. (no newspaper named, 1942)
