Buckman Man Called Beyond

Funeral service for the deceased Nick Bauer was held in St. Michael's church at Buckman this morning at 9 o'clock. His death occurred on Tuesday, Sept. 29th, at 8:30 A.M. at the home of his son, John Bauer, in Buckman township. The deceased had been suffering from cystitis chronic interstial nephritis since last April which also caused his death.

He was born in Tunsdorf, Germany, December 2, 1841, 83 years ago. About 55 years ago he was married in Germany and in 1883 he came to the states and settled in Shelby county, Iowa, later he moved to Woodbury and in 1902 moved onto the farm at Buckman where he lived with his son until the present time.

The deceased is survived by five children, Mrs. Peter Erickson of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Peter Hayes of Danbury, Iowa, Mrs. Henry Wieland and Math and John Bauer, all of Buckman. A brother, Math Bauer of Danbury, Iowa, also survives. He was grandfather of 29 children and great grand father of 12 children.

Interment followed the burial service this morning in the Catholic cemetery at Buckman.
