William Dorn, 69, died suddenly early Wednesday afternoon at his farm home in the town of Schleswig, two miles northwest of Kiel.
Born June 15, 1885, at Marytown, a son of Erhardt and Catherine Erling Dorn, he attended parochial schools at Marytown an at St. Anna. His marriage to Anna Schnell of Town Schleswig was solemnized May 18, 1914, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Kiel. Following their marriage, the couple operate a farm in the town of Rhine for three years. They were engaged in farming in Town Schleswig for the past 37 years.
Survivors are the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Alex (Alice) Rollman, Kiel, Mrs. Robert (Catherine) Dedering, New Holstein, and Miss Janet Dorn, at home; three sons Joseph of Town New Holstein, Francis of Kiel, and Peter of Chilton. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; four brothers, the Rev. Frederick Dorn, St. Nazianz, and John, Peter and Frank, Town New Holstein, and four sisters, Sister M. Serphia of Benedict Convent, Clyde, Mo., Morther M. Landeline of St. Francis Sanatorium, Roslyn, L.I., N.Y., Mrs. Adam FAust, Town Rhine, and Mrs. Elizabeth Hartman, Town New Holstein. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Meiselwitz Funeral home, Kiel, and at 10 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Church. The Rev. Fr. Dorn, brother of the deceased, will be the celebrant of the requiem mass. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. The Holy Name Society of Ss. Peter and Paul parish at Kiel will recite the rosary at the funeral home at 7:30 o'clock Friday evening.
