Frances Thelma HUDSON Aultman was my beloved maternal grandmother. She was the kindest, hardest-working, most unselfish person I ever knew. She was a blessing to and loved by everyone who knew her. I thank God she was my Granny.

This is my mother and youngest son, Thelma's daughter and ggrandson, standing at the head of Granny's grave (Poppy's grave is on the left, not seen). In honor of my grandmother, I named him Hudson, her maiden name. I hope it pleased her as much as it did me to do this.

This is me and Granny on my first Christmas. I was her 4th grandchild and have many wonderful memories of times spent with her. Saturday morning shopping at the Kmart. Sitting in her lap and watching the Lawrence Welk Show on Saturday nights. Eating her delicious fried chicken, cornbread, blackberry cobbler and homemade pickles among many many other dishes. She was the best grandmother any child could want!

The earliest known picture of my grandmother standing center with members of her family. Many years ago, Granny told us who the other people in the photo were. Unfortunately, we didn't realize the value of writing down this information and have now forgotten who she identified them as. We do believe that the older man and woman on the left are her maternal grandparents, John L. and Susan P. Bryant. If anyone can help in identifying the others in this picture, please let me know. They are most likely Bryants or Hudsons.

Granny putting dinner on the table which is out of view of this picture on the left of my mother (standing with her back to the camera). Granny was an excellent cook! I should know, we ate dinner with her nearly every Sunday after church. Of course she should have been...she'd been doing it since she was about 7 years old when she would have to stand on a wood crate to reach the stove top. And talk about a meal! It was normal for her to have at least two meats, 3-5 vegetables/side dishes, always cornbread from her black iron skillet and sweet tea followed by at least 2 desserts. I'd give just about anything to be able to eat one of her wonderful meals again!

"The bank of the lake may of got her but SHE got the fish!" This photo was taken Aug 1979 on our vacation at Lake Tugaloo, GA. Granny was fishing and slipped on the muddy banks of the lake injuring her knee. She ended up on crutches for the rest of the vacation, but as usual, she took it in stride and with a sense of humor.
