David P. Biggs, Sr., 73, of rural Middletown, Ill., died at 2 a.m. Monday at the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

The deceased was born Jan. 13 in Campbellsville, son of Butler and Mae (Reed) Biggs and grew up in the Red Fern neighborhood.

A retired farmer, Biggs was manager of the Biggs Farm Supply for more than 28 years.

He married Nancy Antle, daughter of C. D. and Lou Ella Antle, from Pikes Ridge, May 30, 1936, in Campbellsville, who survives. Also surviving are his father of Greenview; a son, David, Jr., of Beardstown; four daughters, Mrs. Gloria Abbott of Riverton, Mrs. Mary Richardson, Williamsville, Mrs. Ann Dodson, Pontiac, Mich., and Mrs. Mardelle Rankin, Petersburg; a brother, Gowdy, of Greenview; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Sablotney, of Lincoln, and Mrs. Lucille Gilkason of Godfrey; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Two sisters are deceased.

Memorials may be sent to the United Methodist Church in Middletown, Ill.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Middletown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Arthur Ferguson officiating.

Burial was in the Sugar Grove Cemetery at Sweetwater.
