Albert C. Pratt, 91, of Stites, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.

Albert was born Aug. 1, 1911, at Grangeville, a son of Charles and Myra Wood Pratt. He attended school at Grangeville, Stites, and 9-Pipe, a local country school.

Following his education, he purchased a ranch and ranched and farmed northeast of Grangeville and on the South Fork of the Clearwater near Stites. He married Cora Vanderwall on April 24, 1934, in Grangeville. Cora passed away on Feb. 28, 2003.

Albert raised Hereford cattle and was one of the first members of the Idaho County Cattlemen's Association. In 1949, he served as president of the Idaho County PureBred Breeders Association and was also instrumental in starting the Capital Show, a cattle and bull sale in Boise.

He enjoyed gardening, trapping, and spending time in the outdoors.

He was a member of the Grangeville Christian Reformed Church.

In addition to his wife; a brother and sister died earlier.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Grangeville Christian Reformed Church.
