"Bidy" or "Grandma Bidy", as she was lovingly known to her family, had two loves in her life – God and her family.

She was a long-time member of First Apostolic Church of Southport. She was married to Clarence Alexander Simmons for 40 years, who preceded her in death.

She had two children – David Leon Simmons and Otelia Simmons Carrier; five grandchildren – Diane Carrier McKeithan, Zettie Carrier Mangum, Davette Simmons Toppings, Zelma Simmons Larson and Loretta Simmons Candler.

At the time of her death, she had nine great-grandchildren – Robbie McKeithan, Brett McKeithan, Hank Mangum, Cary Mangum, Angela Winders, Jeremy Carlisle and Destiny Cheers, Wesley Charles Johnson, Jr., and Fred Lee Babson, and two great-great-grandchildren, Daisy Winders and Jordan McKeithan.

Although "Bidy" was called home to be with her Lord, not a single day goes by without her being fondly remembered with much love by all those whose lives she touched. She is gone, but not forgotten, and our memories of her will always be cherished.
