Leo Albert Millet Sr, former secretary/treasurer of Charity Hospital, died in Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday 7 Mar 1987 after a brief illness. He was 96. Mr Millet was secretary/treasurer of the hospital for 10 years before his retirement in 1958. He was appointed by Gov. Sam Jones and three successive governors. Previously, he was an auditor at the hospital. Mr Millet served in World War I in the Army Corps of Engineers. Mr Millet is survived by a daughter, Mrs Edward G Dority of Memphis; a son, Leo A Millet Jr of New Orleans; three grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs Paul L Daniels and Mrs Charles Caillouet of Baker, Louisiana, Mrs O'Neil Champagne of Reserve, Louisiana, Mrs Raymond Sailer of Pueblo, Colorado, and Mrs Andrew T Cashio of Garyville, Louisiana; and two brothers, Donald Millet of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Gerard Millet of Montgomery, Alabama. Services were held in Memphis, with burial Tuesday 10 Mar 1987 in the Garden of Memories in Metairie, Louisiana.
