Former Hartford City business owner Catherine Irene Schorey, 94, died at 7:45 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Memorial Home at Warren, where she had resided since April 11, 1995.

Mrs. Schorey was a former co-owner and operator of Schorey Men's Wear in Hartford City. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hartford City and a 50-year member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority.

A resident of Blackford County from 1930 to 1995, she was born in Liberty Center, Wells County, Nov. 7, 1906 to Fred and Minnie Weaver Stahl. Her marriage in Bluffton on July 2, 1927 was to Clarence Schorey, who died Dec. 30, 2000.

Surviving are a son, James R. Schorey of Trophy Club, Texas; a daughter, Nancy Sue Schorey of Richmond, Va.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Arthur (Catherine E.) Irwin of Redlands, Calif.; and two great grandchildren. An infant daughter, Doris J., died in 1929 and a brother and two sisters also are deceased.

Services at 11 a.m. Monday will be at Keplinger Funeral Home in Hartford City, where calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday for two hours prior to services.

Rev. David Smith will officiate at rites and burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery at Bluffton.
