He was one of the originators of the Okeene Rattlesnake Roundup, where he was initiated into the "White Fang" Society, having survived a rattlesnake bite in 1968.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy.

He is survived by his children, Jerry and Annette Laubach of Stillwater, Dennis and Paula Laubach of Okeene, and Connie and Mark McFarland of Tulsa; his grandchildren, David and Kathy Glasscock of Avondale, Pa., Lance and Jenny Laubach of Tulsa, Rhett and Ashley Laubach of Edmond, Paul and Maria Laubach of Leedey, Ross Laubach of Leedey, Victoria Laubach of London, England, and Christopher McFarland of Baltimore, Maryland. Carl is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
