Death Comes to Carmel Hartman
Arma Resident Lived in Crawford County 60 Years

Arma. Sept. 23-Carmel Edward (Jack) Hartman 81, died at his home in Arma about 5:30 o'clock Sunday night after a 9-year illness. Mr. Hartman was a retired coal miner having come to Crawford County about 60 years ago.
Mr. Hartman was born in Upper Tract, West Virginia, July 27, 1876 and came to the Kansas coal fields to work when he was but twenty years of age. He lived in Arma more then 30 years.
Mr. Hartman married Miss Myrtle Jo Wykle April 18, 1899 in Girard.
In addiction to the widow of the home, Mr. Hartman is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Martha Smith, Fresno, California. and Mrs. Mildred Rhodes, Arma; two sons Orval Hartman, Houston, Texas, and Raymond Hartman, Mulberry, Texas, and 33 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Arma Methodist Church with Rev. C. Askins officiating. Mrs. Florence Hawkins will sing "In The Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied by Miss Sandra Hawkins. Burial will be at Rosebank Cemetery at Mulberry. The body was taken to the church from funeral home here at 12:30 P.M. Wednesday. The body is at the Mortuary.
Pallbearers will be Earl Smith, Junior Dohle, Billy Hartman, Jack Hartman, Donald Hartman and Eddie Richards.
