MRS. D. P. GOSNELL, Greenville
Mae Bell Clardy Gosnell, 73, of 104 Edgewood Drive, died Feb. 24, 1996, following a period of declining health.
Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late John and Grace Cooper Clardy and the wife of the late D.P. Gosnell.
She retired from Rental Uniforms and was a member of Grove Road Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Myra G. Holcombe and Janice G. Roberts, both of Easley, and Dorothy G. "Dottie" Hall and Judy G. Rhodes, both of Greenville; a son, David P. "Buddy" Gosnell Jr. of Liberty; five sisters, Alice Clardy and Alma C. Baity, both of Greenville, Jonnie C. Manley of Greenville, Betty C. Joyner of Houston and Rebecca "Boonie" Babb of Pelzer; three brothers, J.C. Clardy, Harold Clardy and Curtis "Tony" Clardy, all of Greenville; 11 grandchildren, Roy D. Holcombe, Theresa Holcombe Cureton, Belinda June Holcombe, David Thomas Hyatt, Rita Kay Hyatt Mahaffey, Kim Hyatt Tallent, Paul David Dixon, Julie Ann Dixon Edward, Angie Gosnell, Teresa Gosnell and Missy Chastain; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Willie Epps and Peggy Holder; and a granddaughter, Melinda June Holcombe.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Holcombe, Melvin Cureton, Phil Tallent, Kim Mahaffey, J.B. Strange and Jimmy Woods.
Visitation: 3:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home.
