Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late John and Grace Cooper Clardy. He was previously employed with Fairway Ford and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Jenny Abercrombie Clardy; son, William Harold "Billy" Clardy of Greenville; daughter, Lisa Clardy Burton and her husband David of Greenville; son, Kevin Eugene Clardy and his wife Renee of Greenville; sisters, Alice Clardy of Greenville; Betty Joyner of Houston, Texas, Johnnie Manly of Greenwood, Becky Babb of Pelzer; brother, Tony Clardy of Greenville; five precious grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Jonah Morgan, Erik Michael, Jordan Meghann, Jordan Meghann, MacKenzie Clardy, Caitlin Lee Burton and David Lee Burton Jr., all of Greenville. He was predeceased by sisters, Maybell Gosnell, Alma Baity, Peggy Holder, Willie Epps and a brother, J.C. Clardy.
Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 tonight at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel, with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family is at the residence.
