When he was 16, he married Margaret Victoria Lewis. Laborn and Maggie were parents of ten children; Gussie Lewis Adams, Louie Adams, Aldie Eugene Adams, Ellis Denton Adams, Dennis Mack Donel Adams. Laborn and Maggie raised their family in Blount County. Laborn was a farmer and member of Pleasant Hope Primitve Baptist Church. He died in a Tuscaloosa Hospital 1 July 1960. He is buried in the Mt Moriah Cemetery.
