Mrs. Delores Gail "Nanny" Aydelott, age 69, a resident of Columbia and long time resident of the Santa Fe Community, passed away on Monday, March 23, in Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Gail conducted in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Hugh Cunningham officiating.

Burial in the Santa Fe cemetery.

Born on February 14, 1940, in Braggadocio, MO, Gail was the daughter of the late Orvil and Marcel Champion Cobb. She was married to William "Bill" Aydelott who preceded her in death on October 13, 1990.

She was retired as a private sitter and more than anything loved mowing her yard and working in her flower beds. Each year at Christmas, she had a tradition where each grandchild chose an ornament from her Christmas tree. Her grandchildren also have special memories of the cakes she made at Easter with a nest on top made with coconut and jelly beans for the eggs. Gail loved telling stories of dancing with her brothers to rock-n-roll music after school. She was a terrific cook and every woman would love to have her recipe for cornbread, biscuits and coleslaw. Gail was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughters: Ginger (Dennis) Gardner of Columbia, Kim (David) Fitzgerald of Santa Fe and Tammy (Winston) Chunn of Spring Hill; grandchildren: Leslie Gardner of Columbia, Kelley Fitzgerald of Santa Fe, Stephanie (James) Harlan of Columbia, Ashley (David) Farrell of Columbia, Katie Fitzgerald of Santa Fe, John Chase Chunn of Spring Hill, Ray Gardner of Columbia and Kassie Fitzgerald of Santa Fe; one great-granddaughter: Madison Farrell of Columbia; a long time high school friend, Lou Jernigan and a special caregiver and best friend, Jean Young. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Gail was preceded in death by her brothers: Larry, Jimmy and Terry Cobb and a nephew: Larry D. "Bubba" Cobb.

Pallbearers: Dennis Gardner, David Fitzgerald, Winston Chunn, John Chase Chunn, Ray Gardner, James Harlan, David Farrell and Patrick Finn.
