She was 96 years old. She was preceded in death by two husbands, George W. Owens and Byird F. Robertson; her children, George "Mitchell" Owens, William H. Owens, Jerry D. Owens Sr. and Ronald W. Owens; and one grandson, George Ellis Owens.
Carrie was saved in 1927 and attended the New River Valley Baptist Church in Pulaski.
Surviving are 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren; and three daughters-in-law, Dolly Owens, of Draper, Irene Smith, of Hardy, and Dottie Dillon, of Roanoke.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009, from 6 until 8 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Home. Services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2009, at the New River Valley Baptist Church, Pulaski with Pastor Jeff Aikens officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
