MISS DELTA ADAMS DEAD

FIRST WHITE CHILD BORN IN DELTA, DELTA COUNTY, COLORADO.

Miss Delta Adams of Corvallis, died at the Parsons & Brown hospital last night about 11 o'clock, after an illness of two weeks. She was brought to this city Wednesday to undergo and operation for an absese of the bowels. A preliminary operation was performed Thursday and it was the intent of the surgeon to attempt the final operation yesterday but her condition prevented such a course.

Miss Adams was 19 years old and was born at Delta Colorado, being the first white child born there to white parents in that town. The family moved to Idaho from Colorado a couple of years ago and last spring came to Montana, settling at Corvallis. Miss. Marie Adams came with her sister Wednesday and has been with her at the hospital since her arrival. Ripley Adams, a brother arrived last evening and the brother and sister were with the girl when she died.

John Quincy Adams, the father of the girl who just died, is mortally sick at the family home on Corvallis. Aged and broken down in health, he only awaits death to relieve his pain. He has been ailing for three years with kidney trouble and for the past six weeks has been confined to his bed. His wife and two sons remained at Corvallis to care for him while the other son and daughter attended their dying sister. He is not expected to live more than a few days. Mr. Adams is 70 years old and a veteran of the Civil War. He served with the second Nebraska Infantry for five years from the begenning till after the close of the war. Messages were sent to two married sisters in Colorado telling them that their father and sister were both dying. - Montana Missoulian.
