Jim C. Childers
CLARKSBURG — Mr. Jim C. Childers, age 81, of 202 Maple Avenue, Stonewood, WV, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2007, at the Meadowview Manor Health Care Center in Bridgeport, WV following an extended illness.
He was born May 19, 1926, in Stonewood, WV, a son of the late Epp D. Childers and Hattie Marie Cottrill Childers.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Lee Moodispaugh Childers, whom he married October 19, 1957; two sisters-in-law, Reta Moodispaugh, Melbourne, FL, and Vera Westfall, Bridgeport, WV; and .a niece & a nephew.
Mr. Childers was also preceded in death by two brothers, Aubrey & Terry C. Childers, and two sisters, Wyomia V. Snyder & Rita Hardy.
Mr. Childers was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, the Roy E. Parrish Post # 13 of the American Legion and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country in the Korean Conflict. He was a retired plasterer and welder with over 35 years of service.
Friends may call at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street, Clarksburg, after 6 p.m. on Monday & after noon on Tuesday, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Pastor Richard Settles presiding. Interment will follow in Stonewall Park Cemetery in Stonewood, WV
