Robert Scott was born in Parker County, Texas to James Lee Scott and Lin Barnhill. He married Emma Ida Ritchey on 28 Feb 1893 in Jack Co, Texas. They were parents of James A, William M, Leonard O, and Julias Ray.

From an old Ancestry.com entry-- "Robert worked for the Waggoner Ranch as a foreman. While crossing Red River into Oklahoma he got wet, took pneumonia and died.

When Oklahoma opened up, Robert filed on land at Hess, OK --160 acres. Hess is not far from Altus or Tipton, OK. That farm stayed in the family until Emma died. It was sold and divided between all the boys in March, 1973."

I have a written document provided by Emma Ritchey Scott for Emma Hecox Penn and her mother Juanita Scott Hecox whereby Emma Ritchey states Robert's parents are James Scott and Linda (Barnhill) Scott. I am unsure where the "Lin" Barnhill name came from.
