Avo Poe-Shannon, 91, Granby, died Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Freeman Neosho Hospital, following a short illness. Mrs. Shannon was born Oct. 1, 1917 in Washburn, MO and was a lifelong area resident. She was a homemaker and member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Granby. She married Claude Wm Poe on March 26, 1934 at Pineville, MO and he preceded her in death on April 13, 1979, her second husband, Bill Shannon, also preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Wilma Jean Cupps-Porter and husband, John, Neosho and Willadean Lakin and husband, Bryan, Nixa, MO; a stepson, Montie Shannon and wife, Mickey, Oklahoma; one brother, Joe Stephens and wife, Darlene, Webb City, MO; four grandchildren, Rick Cupps, Brett Cupps, Chris Lakin and Debbie Schwer and four great grandchildren, Marc Fuller, Andrew Lakin; Christa Cupps and Spencer Cupps. She is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melody Cupps-Ford and great grandson, Micah Lakin. Services will be Wed., March 25, 2009 at 1:30 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Granby, Rev. Fred Franks will officiate.
